1303790 Steam and spray irons SUNBEAM CORP 17 Sept 1970 [17 Sept 1969] 33838/72 Divided out of 1301317 Heading D1A An electric steam and spray iron has a manual value 135 for slectively directing water pumped from a reservoir 25 by a manual pump 64 either to a steam generating cavity 130 in the soleplate 22 or to a spray nozzle 137. A value 56 actuated manually by a rod 54 permits a drip feed of water from the reservoir to the steam generating cavity 130 which communicates by way of a labyrinth with steam ports 98 in the soleplate. Use of the pump 64 either provides steam at greater pressure than provided by the drip feed value 56, or a spray of water for delicate fabrics.
