1300987 Baths H A V JOHANSSON 15 Dec 1970 59416/70 Heading A4N A bath 2 particularly adapted for use by disabled people comprises a door 20 pivoted to the outer casing 2a of the bath and arranged to close in a watertight manner an opening 16 in the front or foot end of the bath and a seat 17 designed to be movable through the opening 16 and located alternatively either on tracks 26, 27 within the bath or on the movable chassis 25 of a wheelchair 1. A seal is provided between the bath and the door by a hose-like member 21 adapted to be inflated by water from the domestic supply lines. Automatic spring-loaded latches 22 secure the door in position and are releasable by a handle 24 preferably arranged to operate only after the bath water has been emptied. The bath is provided with a conventional stationary seat 15. Preferably means are provided (a) to disconnect and eject the chassis 25 from the bath after the seat 17 has been transferred thereto (b) to return the chassis to the bath and inter-connect these components after the door has been opened (c) to transfer the seat into and out of the bath. SUPPLY FITTINGS; SHOWERS. A bore 3 controls operation of a plug 7, is connected to a hot supply pipe 9, and a cold supply pipe 10 and is provided with a mixing valve 4. The valve 4 communicates via a pivoted arm 12 with a spray bar 11 which may be used for filling the bath and/or spraying the occupant. A conventional shower 13 is also provided.
