Abstract
1389564 Biocular magnifying lens PILKINGTON P E Ltd 26 Jan 1973 [17 Feb 1972] 7510/72 Heading G2J A biocular magnifying lens faster than f/1.0 has a front part, a middle part and a back part, the front part being convergent and having a focal length between + 2.5F and + 8.0F (where F is the focal length of the complete lens); like middle part being convergent and having a focal length between + 1.6F and + 4.5F, there being a divergent element included in at least one of the first and middle parts and in which the back part comprises a component convex to the front and in which lens spherical aberration introduced by convergent elements is corrected by the front surface(s) of the divergent element(s), astigmatism is controlled by the spacing between the middle and back parts and the parts are arranged to effect cornia correction. Optical data are given.
