Abstract

1372741 Measuring angular speed electrically CROUZET 10 Dec 1971 [11 Dec 1970] 57493/71 Heading G1N The collector and base coils 7, 8, Fig.2, of an oscillating transistor 20 are located on either side of the teeth 6a of a rotating castellated disc 6, Fig.1, driven by a shaft 2. The bursts of oscillation produce a pulse train across load resistor 12 whose frequency is proportional to the angular speed of shaft 2. The circuitry ensures that each pulse has steep sides.
