Abstract

1371738 Soldering ASAHI GLASS CO Ltd 19 Feb 1973 [19 Feb 1972] 8131/73 Heading B3R [Also in Division C7] Glass, ceramics or metals with oxidized surfaces, e.g. Si, Ge, Al, Ti, Zr, Ta, are soldered at low temperatures not above 180‹ C. employing vibration, e.g. ultrasonic vibration and a solder alloy consisting of, by weight 2 to 98À45% lead 1 to 97À45% tin 0À5 to 60% cadmium 0À05 to 10% zinc with optional additions of antimony, bismuth, rare-earth metals, aluminium, silicon, titanium and/or beryllium. This solder alloy can be used as a base layer for conventional Pb/Sn solders. In one exemplified process, the article to be soldered is dipped into a molten solder bath.
