Abstract

1368772 Crash barriers G O EWART 3 Sept 1971 [22 March 1971] 7500/71 Heading E1G A highway crash barrier comprises one or more rows of posts 2 which either (a) support rows of contiguous vehicle tyres laid horizontally, Fig. 1B, or vertically. Fig. 2 (not shown) alongside the highway, or which (b) support horizontal fencing lengths of rubber, Fig. 3, formed by welding together strips of rubber cut peripherally from vehicle tyres. The barrier may be provided with a plastics cover of inverted channel shape.
