Abstract

1366155 Current collectors RIV-SKF OFFICINE DI VILLAR PEROSA SpA 29 Nov 1971 [8 Feb 1971] 55334/71 Heading H2E A rotary bearing adapted to pass current between fixed and rotating assemblies comprises metal rings 1, 2, having cylindrical portions 1b, 2b and curved slanting seatings 1a, 2a, and ball bearings 3, spaced apart by a cage 4, which roll between the seatings la, 2a. The bearing is held together, and contact is maintained despite wear or faulty assembly, by an axial load. The rings are covered, except over the bearing surfaces, by moulded plastics covers 5, 6 which comprise tubular parts 5a, 6a and flanges 5b, 6b with lips 5c, 6c. Connection to the rings 1, 2 is made by metal strips 7, 10, with enlarged ends 7a, 10a secured by deformation in slots 8, 11, which extend axially through slots 9, 12 in the covers.
