Abstract

1362373 Jet pulverizers GEOCHEMICAL SERVICES (HOLDINGS) Ltd and C R STRINGER 2 Jan 1973 [3 Jan 1972] 71/72 Heading B2A A jet pulverizer comprises an axially-horizontally-mounted cylindrical milling chamber having end walls 2, 3, Fig. 3, which are formed of flat segmnetal plates and a periphery curved wall formed of abutting plates 10. The plates are made of abrasion resistant material are individually removable and lined with wear resistant material, e.g. boron, silicon or tungsten carbide. Material is injected with gas at 4 and discharged via an outlet 1. Alternatively feed may be into the curved wall. A screw conveyor may replace the injector. Cylindrical or divergent jets 14, Fig. 6, are inserted into a ring 13 which is surrounded by a manifold space 7. The outlet aperture 1 is surrounded by tangential vanes 11. A system for comminuting pulverized fuel ash includes a jet mill 20 filters 28, 26 with seam air nitrogen or argon supplied via a conduit 21, Fig. 9. A coolant, e.g. water at 15‹C may be injected at (25) Fig. 8, not shown.
