Abstract

1356177 Assembly form fits ODESSKY ZAVOD PRESSOV 7 Aug 1971 37218/71 Heading B3U Wheels 9 are forced on to an axle 8 by the alternate reciprocation of pistons 11 of a pair of coaxial hydraulic cylinders 10, each cylinder having a feeler rod 13 which is mechanically interlinked with the respective piston and which interacts both with the axle to ascertain the axle length and with a corrector device 22, the latter interacting with the wheel being forced on to the axle to determine the effective length of stroke of the piston to suit the length of the axle. In operation the axle has the wheels preliminarily fitted on to the guide cones of the axle and the assembly is then placed on a carriage 6. The left hand piston is then actuated and moves to the right to centre the left hand wheel on the guide cone, after which the piston causes the carriage 6 to move to the right until the right hand end of the axle rests against the end of a thrust sleeve 12 of the right hand cylinder. Simultaneously a bracket 17 mounted on the left hand piston 11 moves a sleeve 16 along a rod 15. The sleeve acts upon a stop 20, via a spring 19, and moves the rod 15 and feeler rod 13 to the right. The rod 15. pivots a lever 23 of the corrector device 22 to the right thus moving to the right a spindle 25 of a slide block 26 together with a sensor 27. This movement continues until the end of the left hand feeler rod 13 rests against the axle. Simultaneously the sensor 27 stops in such a position that ensures the equivalent distance l from the inner faces of the wheels 9 to the ends of the axle on both sides of the wheel pair. Further movement of the sensor ceases and the left hand wheel is forced on to the axles until its inner face contacts a stop 28 which moves to the right until it contacts sensor 27 whereupon the left hand hydraulic cylinder is deactivated. The process is then repeated for the right hand wheel.
