Abstract
1348510 Jetting apparatus ENVIRONMENT ONE CORP 19 Oct 1971 [20 Oct 1970] 48475/71 Heading E1F [Also in Division Fl] In apparatus for producing a high energy liquid jet, which comprises a chamber 11, Fig. 1, and an outlet nozzle 12, a shock wave is electrically created in the liquid to eject the latter through the outlet 12. Liquid is supplied to the chamber 11 through a line 13 and one way ball valve and electrodes 16, 17 are energised from a capacitance 23 via a switch 22 which is also linked via a senser 26 to a shutter 24. The electrodes 16, 17 are provided with sleeves 20, 21 and insulation 18, 19. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2 (not shown) liquid is supplied to the chamber 11 through a part (32) communicating with a cylinder in which slides a piston (30) the operative face of which forms part of the portion 17 when the piston has been fully advanced to force the liquid into the chamber 11.
