Abstract

1345151 Golf ball DUNLOP HOLDINGS Ltd 19 April 1971 [12 May 1970] 22769/70 Heading A6D A golf ball comprises a thread-wound core encased in a cover comprising a block copolymer having elastomeric and non-elastomeric blocks, e.g. butadiene/styrene three-block copolymer. The cover may be applied by (a) compression or injection-moulding hemispherical cups and fitting these to the core with subsequent moulding to unite the cups or (b) injection moulding directly on to the core, optionally in two steps. The cover may be formed from a blend with other polymers, e.g. polystyrene, polyisoprene, or balata, and may be vulcanized after formation.
