Abstract
1341393 Radiant heating tubes HOTWORK DEVELOPMENT Ltd 12 Jan 1971 [15 June 1970] 28913/70 Headings F4B and F4T A radiant tube heating device comprises a combustion tube 1 having a burner at one end and channels 10 welded to the combustion tube to carry the combustion products from the other end back to a waste gas outlet 14 at the same end as the burner so that the surface of the tube between the channels radiates heat to the furnace or other space into which the tube is inserted. Gas is supplied at 15 to a cylindrical nozzle 5, and air at 16 to annular space 4. The air-flow is divided by a tube 8 so that part passes through apertures 9 to mix and burn with the gas passing through lateral apertures 6. The remaining air passing through the outer annular space mixes with the combustion products and reduces their temperature.
