Abstract
1341043 Cremation furnaces WELLMAN INCANDESCENT FURNACE CO Ltd 7 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 58609/70 Heading F4B A coffin support platform for a cremation furnace, comprises a plurality of metal or refractory tubes through which a cooling medium such as air, may be passed. The tubes may extend longitudinally of the furnace combustion chamber or, as shown in Fig. 4, transversely of the combustion chamber. In the transversely extending case longitudinally extending bars 34 of metal or refractory material may be supported on the tubes 32 to form a platform for the coffin. Alternatively the transverse tubes 32 may extend through slots in longitudinally extending flat members. Air from the tubes may be used as secondary combustion air.
