Electro-photographic deformation imaging process using an imaging member comprising (1) an electrostatically photo-sensitive layer which is resistant to lateral relocation in step (c) below, overlying (2) a softenable, non-photo-sensitive, electrostatically deformable layer, comprises (a) uniformly charging, (b) imagewise exposing, and (c) softening layer (2) so that layers (1) and (2) wrinkle in imagewise configuration. Layer (2) is preferably composed of a thermoplastic which is softened in step (c) by heat or solvent, and layer (1) is preferably ZnO, Se, indigo, phthalocyanine or an organic photo-conductor dispersed in a binder.
