Abstract
1,233,773. Air heating and cooling devices; ventilators. POW R MATIC Inc. 23 May, 1968 [24 May, 1967], No. 24658/68. Headings F4S and F4V. Unit apparatus 10 for selectively heating or cooling air which is supplied from and returned to a room via a ceiling mounted diffuser 38 and inlet and outlet ducts 34, 36 incorporates a blower 16 together with an air-heating heat exchanger 14 and a cooling device 18. Air enters the unit through inlet 30, flows along a return path, and leaves through outlet 32. The heat exchanger 14 comprises a vertical combustion chamber (50, Fig. 3) which is provided with a combustion means 27 supplying fuel and air and is connected to two vertically extending secondary chambers (52) which provide an extended heat transfer surface. The air cooling device 18 may be the cooling coils of a conventional refrigeration apparatus.
