Abstract

1,224,703. Packaging flat strips. UDDEHOLMS AB. 25 March, 1969 [26 March, 1968], No. 15670/69. Heading B8C. A package comprises a coiled assembly of flat strips 1 and an envelope of packaging material 4, 5 having a seam 6 projecting laterally from one or both sides of the coil to protect the strip. The strip is packaged either by enclosing the strip between two elongated sheets 4, 5 of packaging material and forming seams along both edges or by folding a sheet over the strip and forming one seam to bind the edges; the packaged strip then being rolled. The packaging material may be paper, a plastics material or a combination of both and may be sealed by adhesive, adhesive strip, heat sealing or embossing. Extra layers of packaging material 10 may be wound around the coil for protection and the package may be formed continuously over longitudinally separated strips so that the packaging material can be cut to separate the strips.
