Abstract

1,216,541. Car transporters. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. 30 July, 1969 [3 May, 1968], No. 397/68. Heading B7B. A vehicle for transporting small city transport vehicles 1 from one city to another comprises a lower deck 2 suspended from lateral longitudinal box section girders overlying the road wheels an intermediate deck 5 accessible by stairway 10 and an upper deck 18 for the driver. The intermediate deck has a corridor leading from the front observation compartment 6 to the rear one 7 and utility rooms 8, 11-14 are accessible from the corridor. The vehicle may be designed for load carrying having a forward deck over the engine-driven bogie 16 and under the driver's compartment and a rear deck extending rearwardly from the rear of the bogie 16.
