[Also in Division F2] A self tapping screw, wood screw rail or pin is coated at least on its operative surface with a film of polytetrafluoroethylene, polyethylene or a metallic soap formed from lauric acid or cerotic acid reacting with the operative surface whereby the effort required to secure the fastener in its fastened condition is lower than in the case of an uncoated fastener. The coating may be applied by dipping or spraying operations.
