Abstract

1,201,894. Studio lamps. BERKEY TECHNICAL (U.K.) Ltd. 16 May, 1969, No. 25194/69. Heading F4R. A studio lamp comprises an outer casing 1, 2 and an inner wall 32 of heat-resistant material which define between them flow channels for cooling air, the outlets 35 from the channels being adjacent the outlet for the primary cooling air which flows over the bulb 19 so that the primary cooling air induces a flow of air through the channels. The primary outlet is controlled by louvres 8 supported by rods 7 and separated by spacers (9, Fig. 2, not shown) of varying lengths so that the greatest distance between adjacent louvres is immediately above the bulb. Air enters the lamp through inlets 12, 13 (14), (15) and the primary flow may be produced by convection alone or by a blower. The inner wall consists of two portions 32 made of re-constituted mica and a third, rear, portion (24) made of the same material and spaced from the rear wall (3) of the outer casing to form a further air channel having an independent inlet (25) and outlet (26) and containing a switch (27). The position of the bulb can be adjusted by means of a control member accessible through the inlet 12.
