Abstract

1292923 Feeding webs ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITESLTVI 16 March 1970 [14 March 1969] 12462/70 Heading B8R A web 12, eg. of textile material, is fed on to needle chains 13, 14, for conveyance to a processing machine, by means of rollers 10, 11 carried by arms 1, 2 movable about respective pivots 3, 4 by hydraulic cylinders 17, 18 which are connected to respective hydraulic amplifiers 25, 26. Each amplifier comprises a control flap 34 mounted in a diaphragm 35 and biased by a spring 37; a force opposing the pull of spring 37 and representative of deviations of the web-edge from a desired path is also applied to the flap 34 by means of an elastic reed 36 which cooperates with an arrangement including a lever 40 associated with a scanning feeler 42 and a further spring 39. In operation, the control flap is in its neutral position when the web follows a desired path; deviations from this path cause movement of the control flap whereby the flow of fluid to the cylinders 17, 18 is regulated to cause corrective movement of the arms 1, 2 to restore equilibrium conditions.
