1285670 Board game M I GLASS [trading as MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES] 29 July 1971 [29 July 1970] 35586/71 Heading A6H Board game apparatus comprises a board set out as shown in the drawing with a path of travel 48 for playing pieces and divided by partitions 16, 18, 20, 22 into four rooms, a chimney 150 being provided in the centre and fitted with a deflecting device at the top so that when a ball is inserted into the opening 154 of the chimney it will be randomly directed out of one of the openings in the sides of the chimney to operate hazard elements which cause the ball to land on the playing surface and disturb playing pieces which must then be moved back to the previous room. In some cases parts of the hazard elements disturb the playing pieces. As shown, the ball may fall down a chute 70a to hit a simulated broom 72 to cause, it to swing and hit a playing piece occupying the hazard space 78. The ball may fall down a stair-like structure 116 to roll on a platform 98 to disturb playing pieces on the spaces 110. The ball may also fall into a tilting ramp assembly 54 which is coupled by a shaft 64 to a simulated jaw device 122 which will be simultaneously operated when the ramp assembly is moved. The end of the path is a circle 144 and a piece reaching the end is directed down a chimney 136 onto a random deflecting device 140 which may deflect the piece onto the circle 144. Failure to land on the circle 144 means that the piece must return to a previous position. Dice and instruction cards are used to determine the movement of playing pieces which take the form of a bird, a skull and an eyeball and in certain cases in accordance with directions on the cards these pieces may be replaced by pieces which may have a slower or faster movement on the board.
