Abstract

1277983 Headsets AKG AKUSTISCHE U KINO-GERATE GmbH 25 Feb 1970 [25 April 1969] 8972/70 Heading H4J A headset includes an earphone having a shell which completely covers the ear of a wearer and contains a transducer the position of which can be adjusted. In one form the shell has a padded rim 6 for engagement with the users head and has the transducer 4 mounted in a cage 10 supported at one end by a rubber diaphragm 11 and at the other end by a threaded bolt 12. Adjustment of the bolt varies the distance between the transducer and the ear of the user, and the resulting movement diaphragm varies the size of the interation gap between the transducer and the ear. In a modification the cage and diaphragm are replaced by a fixed guide within which the transducer slides, the transducer carrying a threaded bolt carrying a nut positioned in place of the head of the bolt 12. The bolt may be replaced by a shaft held by friction. In a modification a ball is rotatably mounted in the shell and the bolt on the transducer extends through a bore in the ball allowing additional adjustment angularly.
