Abstract

1276651 Building blocks I V PORSOLT 25 June 1969 [8 April 1968] 16713/68 Heading E1B A concrete, terra cotta or synthetic block has one substantially plane rectangular face 3, and a pair of spaced ribs 5 and 6 on the opposite face, the ribs each defining a cavity 11 or 12 through the block and each having a groove 20 therein. A further cavity 13 is also provided. The blocks are bonded to adjacent blocks by flat metal reinforcement strips grouted into grooves 20. The blocks are used for building cavity walls, floors, ceilings or steps, the structures may be filled with concrete. Trough shaped apertured blocks are used in conjunction with the brick of the invention to define beams and pillars, which are then filled with concrete.
