Abstract

1275048 Ventilators COLT INTERNATIONAL Ltd 31 July 1969 [1 Aug 1968] 36662/68 Heading F4V A ventilator which may be fitted on a roof has an air inlet 14 for fresh air, a second inlet 17 for recirculated air, and outlet 22 to the building and a fan 35, there being movable louvres 40, 41 in the two inlets. The two sets of louvres are connected by a link 42 so that as one set is opened the other set is closed. The louvres may be operated by a flexible cable, a push rod, interconnected rods and levers or by a pneumatic cylinder or motor. A filter 59 is fitted between the two inlets and the outlet. A heater, and/or cooler and/or humidifier can be fitted in trunking 67 leading from the outlet 22 to the interior of the building. Cold water can be arranged to flow over the uppermost surface of louvres 40 when fully open to cool the incoming air. In a second embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the motor and fan and fan duct are supported by the roof beams and the remainder of the ventilator-which is of relatively light weight-is supported by the roof sheeting.
