Abstract

1,273,774. Buttons. STE D'EXPLOITATION DE BREVETS INDUSTRIELS. 7 May, 1969 [7 May, 1968 (2)], No. 23392/69. Heading A3H. A button comprises a centrally apertured front plate 1 and a fixation member having a retaining head 9 and a tail 3 of supple material which tail is passed through the cloth 8 so that one of a plurality of locking portions on the tail 3 may engage means associated with the front plate orifice 2. The excess part of the tail shown in dot-dash lines protruding through said front plate 1 may be removable, locking grooves formed in the tail 3 having front lips 5 which provide removal points and rear lips 6 of trunco-conical shape. A front cover plate (11a) Fig. 5 (not shown) may be placed on the front plate (11) after the tail has been inserted in the orifice and the excess cut off. Alternatively, the front plate may receive an apertured elastic washer (26) Fig. 9 (not shown) in a circular groove (23) Fig. 8 (not shown). The tail grooves may be diametrically opposed barbs (18) Fig. 6 (not shown) or three symmetrically opposed barbs (19) Fig. 7 (not shown).
