Abstract
1,271,099. Discharging shoots. SOC. BECUWE. 17 April, 1969 [17 April, 1968], No. 19587/69. Heading B8S. A stack of trays P is carried by a table 3 mounted on a wheeled base 1 and is discharged at its bottom by the movement of two sets of blades, each set being formed of a blade 8 and a blade 9 separated by a spacer member 10. Assuming the stack is supported on the two blades 9 the blades 8 move to engage the second lowest tray and support the stack whilst blades 9 are retracted to release the bottom tray which then falls on to an endless conveyer 4 for discharge. The movement of the blades 8 and 9 is effected by longitudinal movement of the spacer 10 which is provided with pins 16 which engage in curved slots 14 and 15 so that when the spacer 10 moves, the blades 8 and 9 move perpendicularly into and out of engagement with the trays. The blades 8 and 9 are guided by fixed pins 11 moving in slots 12. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the blades (8, 9) have arcuate edges (22) which correspond to the shape of trays being handled. A plate adapted to support a plurality of stacks of trays may be provided, the plate being rotatable to position any one of the stacks above the table 3.
