Abstract
126,951. Norsk Hydro-Elektrisk Kvµlstofaktieselskab. May 15, 1918, [Convention date]. Carbon monoxide for use in reducing ores is obtained from carbon dioxide by interaction with a metallic sulphide according to the equation :- The sulphide is heated in a container 1 to a temperatura of say 1000‹ C., and carbon dioxide is blown in from a pipe 2 connected with the reduction chamber 8. The sulphur dioxide is removed in scrubbers 4, 5 and the carbonic oxide enters a holder 6, from whence it flows to the reduction chamber.
