Abstract

1,266,379. Disc mills. BAUER BROS. CO. 2 Oct., 1969 [30 Oct., 1968], No. 48546/69. Heading B2A. A disc mill comprises refining surfaces 29, 30 which are parallel, the centre of one being radially offset from the centre of the other. As described, two opposed discs are 10, 11 rotatable in a housing 24 having an inlet 26, and discharge outlet 25. A shaft 12 for the disc 10 is relatively fixed. A shaft 13 for the disc 11 is adjustable by a nut-and-screw arrangement 22, 23. Motors 32, 33 are mounted on the shafts between support pedestals 18, 19 respectively. The degree of radial offset (determined according to the desired end product and material input) is varied between .005 inches to 1 inch.
