Abstract
1,261,547. Disc brakes. SOC. ANON. FRANCAISE DU FERODO. 17 Jan., 1969 [18 Jan., 1968], No. 2921/69. Heading F2E. A disc brake comprises a frame 16, a disc 10, two brake pads 11A, 11B carried by blocks 14A, 14B, each pivoted on a lever 21A, 21B pivoted on the frame, actuating means 32, resilient releasing means 30 and automatic wear adjusting means including a device 76 which limits displacement of the levers 21 in the brake releasing direction but permits releasing of the brake as a result of tolerances between moving parts or by resilient means between or in at least some of the moving parts. Each lever comprises two parallel flanges 22 between which extend pins 20, 24, 25, 26. The pins 24 act as pivots and are carried on a spindle 27 mounted on the frame by flanges 28. A release spring 30 extends between pins 25 and an hydraulic piston and cylinder 31, 32 extends between pins 26. Each block 14 is pivoted on a lever by means of a pin 20 extending through flanges 19 on the block. The blocks are also connected to the frame by means of lugs 15 and spindles 18.
