Abstract
1,255,730. Evaporation plant of the vapourcompression type. ROSENBLAD CORP. 7 July, 1969, No. 34051/69. Heading BIB. Liquor, e.g. wood-pulping spent liquors, at a temperature close to the boiling point thereof is introduced through line 15 into an evaporator 10 connected by conduits 19 and 27 to a compressor 24 which supplies compressed process vapours to the heating channels (formed by plates or tubes) in the lower part of the evaporator, and the partially concentrated liquor flows through conduit 17 into evaporator 35 which is heated by non-condensed vapour from the heating channels of evaporator 10. The non-condensed, vapour flows, together with condensate, from the heating channels of evaporator 10 through conduit 14 into tank 29; the separated vapour then flows through pipe 34 into the heating channels of evaporator 35. Condensate is discharged from tank 29 through valve 31 at such a rate that the liquid-level in the tank remains constant. The concentrated product liquor flows out of evaporator 35 through conduit 41. The vapours evolved from the liquor in evaporator 35 flow through pipe 42 to watercooled surface condenser 44 which is connected to a steam-ejector 49.
