Abstract

1,240,929. Electro-machining. VUMA VYSKUMNY USTAV MECHANIZACIE A. AUTOMATIZACIE. July 11, 1969 [July 24, 1968], No.34994/69. Heading C7B. Conductive materials are electro-chemically machined by introducing alternately through a single feed orifice, e.g. via sleeve 16 of the working tool 11 and inlet 15, to flow through the interelectrode gap 21 maintained between the tool face 13 and the workpiece surface 22 being worked, first and second working fluids of different specific electrical conductivities, such as electrolyte 30 e.g. 50% NaNO 3 solution and gas 40 e.g. air enriched with N 2 and C oxides supplied respectively through piping 52, 51 via conical nozzle 54 and hopper 55 to a mixing chamber 57, and alternately decreasing and increasing the gap as respective working fluids flow thereinto. The workpiece 20 may be a Cr-Ni steel cylinder, and the working tool 11 of Cu.
