Abstract
1,105,674. Embroidery machines. ADOLPH SAURER Ltd. 26, Oct., 1965 [3, Nov., 1964], No. 45217/65. Heading D1G. An embroidery machine has a ladder to provide a platform on which the operator can stand, the ladder being supported on two guides, at least one of which is fixed to the machine frame, so that the ladder can be moved longitudinally. As shown, the machine comprises uprights 2 interconnected by an upper horizontal member 3 and a lower horizontal member 4. A ladder 20 carries rollers 23, each of which has a concave surface engaging a guide bar 8 carried by brackets 10 rigid with member 3, and rollers 24 engaging a guide bar 8 carried by brackets 11 rigid with member 4. The ladder may be pivoted about the rollers 23 to clear the uprights 2. The ladder may be displaced manually, or alternatively may be clamped to either the upper or the lower run of an endless driven cable 10 for movement in one or the other direction. In a modification the lower guide is positioned at the base of the uprights 2, and the ladder is thereby positioned permanently outwardly of the latter.
