Abstract

1,104,204. Lined containers. BOWATER PACKAGING Ltd. 7 Feb., 1967 [11 Feb., 1966], No. 6120/66. Heading B8D. A container in the form of a cylindrical drum 1 of fibrous sheet material, has a bag liner 8 with a tubular outlet 7 held in the top wall 4 of the container, the bottom end 11 of the liner 8 being secured centrally to a bottom closure 2. The bag is formed of a flattened tube of plastics material heat-sealed at each end and may be of two-ply thickness, the heat-seals being either common to both tubes or each tube may be sealed separately. The end 11 of the liner is taped to the closure 2 and to the top wall 4 at 13. The bottom corners of the liner 8 may be turned over (at 12), Fig. 2 (not shown), and taped to the liner side wall. The outlet 7 is heat-sealed to the liner 8, and may be hexagonal to fit an aperture of similar shape in the wall 4. The wall 4 is of D-shape, leaving an inspection opening beside it, and has flanges 5 secured to the drum side wall. A replaceable flap 6 aids in locating the outlet 7 in the wall aperture.
