Abstract
119,591. Thorssell, C. T., and LundÚn, H. L. R. Jan. 9, 1918. Hydrogen.-In the manufacture of hydrogen by alternately oxidizing and reducing iron by steam and reducing gas respectively, the iron material used is impregnated with compounds of alkali metals in order to maintain the activity of the iron. For instance, iron sponge may be soaked in a strong solution of sodium hydrate or carbonate and then dried, or the iron sponge may be pulverized; mixed with sodium carbonate and water, pressed into small briquettes, and dried. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 125,410.
