1,186,124. Treating textiles. BRUCKNERTROCKENTECHNIK K.G. 11 Sept., 1968 [27 Sept., 1967], No. 43169/68. Heading D1L. A device for the treatment of a continuous fabric web with a fluid (e.g. for washing or dyeing or other impregnating treatments) comprises a pair of endless feeding and clamping members 2 adapted to hold the edges of a web 1 and convey it through a treatment device 8, and over and beyond an endless fluid-permeable conveyor 6, on which the fabric web is supported during treatment, the device 8 containing fluid spray means 9a, 9b, 9c above the conveyor. The excess liquid from each spray 9a, 9b, 9c is collected in containers 10a, 10b, 10c which are connected for recycling of the liquid in the system 10a to 9c; 10b to 9a; and 10c to 9b. The liquid from container 10a is first purified before recycling. The clamping member 2 run in guides 3 and may be transversely adjusted to accommodate differing web widths. A roller 18 ends in clamping means 2 to the web and on leaving the treatment chamber the web is released from the clamping means 2 by a roller 19. The endless feeding and clamping members may comprise chains fitted with clamps or needles.
