Abstract

1,185,391. Pre-cast wall elements. R. BEEVER. 15 Dec., 1967 [9 Jan., 1967], No. 1097/67. Heading E1B. A filter tank or silo wall comprises pre-cast recessed concrete units 10 held together by reinforcing rods 24 passing through bores 21 in thickened portions 14, 16 of the units, alternate units having depressed portions 18, lined with metal base section 20, in which screw threaded ends of the rods 24 are secured by bolts 26. Resilient wedges 28 are provided between adjacent and around the reinforcing rod to prevent corrosion thereof, gaps thus being provided for ventilation or drainage. A concrete cover is provided for the depression 18.
