Abstract
1,182,440. Soldering flux. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. and W.T. GLOVER & CO. Ltd. Oct.25, 1968 [Oct. 26, 1967], No.48783/67. Heading C7M. A flux for soldering Al comprises the reaction product of at least two of Ammonium hydrogen fluoride, a borofluoride such as ammonium borofluoride a zinc compound such as zinc oxide, with a liquid vehicle comprising monoethanolamine and triethanolamine, the monoethanolamine initially forming 10-25% of the vehicle. The vehicle may also contain up to 20% of the flux of di or triethylene glycol. The solid constituents amount to 10-25% of the entire flux and the following examples are given:- monoethanolamine 14% 9% 9% triethanolamine 67% 62% 62% diethylene glycol - 10% - triethylene glycol - - 10% ammonium borofluoride 14% 14% 14% zinc oxide 5% 5% 5% a dye such as pararosaniline (oil soluble violet) may be added to the flux.
