Abstract

1,166,050. Syringes. G. A. KLOEHN. 19 Oct., 1966 [23 Oct., 1965], No. 46682/66. Heading ASR. [Also in Division F1] In a syringe having a plunger 25 of smaller diameter than the bore 12 of the barrel 10, the plunger and a hollow needle 37 are supported in elastomeric resilient members 16 and 30 having parts 19 and 32 which seal the ends of the bore 12 and provide a fluid tight .seal with the plunger. The inner end portions of the parts 19 and 32 may be formed as separate sleeves which are placed in compression by the threaded portions of the parts. The part (45), Fig. 4 (not shown), which seals the needle end of the plianger bore (12') may be formed integrally with the cap member (31') engaging the exterior of the barrel and the needle (37') mounted in a frusto-conical member (46) engaging a frusto-conical extension of the cap member. The barrel is formed of glass or transparent plastics and a scale (44), Fig. 3 (not shown) is mounted on one side of the barrel.
