Abstract

1,165,589. Rolling. SCHLOEMANN A.G. 21 Nov., 1967 [26 Nov., 1966], No. 52858/67. Heading B3M. A three high roll stand is provided with vertical, grooved rolls 4, 5, 6 which are vertically movable between passes to align the grooves in the rolls with a fixed rolling line. The rolls are driven from a common motor 7 and are mounted in a frame 2 which is movable vertically within a housing 1. The frame 2 is adjustable by a lifting table 12 driven by a spindle 15 from a motor 14. Tilters 17 or 21 are provided on either side of the stand, and the rollers of roller tables 19 and 20 may be inclined. The housing 1 has a removable cap to allow for vertical removal of the rolls. The drives for the rolls may be located above rather than below the rolls.
