The rotor of a waveguide switch is actuated by a toggle which is driven between two extreme positions by a pair of solenoids acting through a pin-and-slot mechanism. The switch (not shown) may be of the kind comprising a stator in which four mutually perpendicular passages are selectively coupled in pairs by an internal rotor having two curved waveguide passages. The rotor is rotatable between two extreme positions 90 degrees apart and is mounted upon a shaft 6 to which is keyed a lever 7. A second lever 9, pivoted at 11, forms with the lever 7 a toggle which is movable between two extreme positions determined by adjustable stops 12. The toggle is driven by a pin-and-slot mechanism 18, 21, the slot 21 being arranged in a rocking plate 16 freely rotatable on the shaft 6. The plate is rocked by one or other of two solenoids 14 connected to a power supply by a two-way switch. As the toggle approaches its extreme position, it opens one or other of two normallyclosed limit switches 19 each connected in series with a respective solenoid 14, the effect being to open the circuit of the solenoid just energized and to set the circuit of the other solenoid. The lever 9 has an extension to facilitate manual operation.
