Abstract
1,163,585. Valves. SPERRYN & CO. Ltd. 16 Oct., 1967 [14 July, 1966], No. 31576/66. Heading F2V. A gas pressure regulator has a closure member 25 connected to diaphragm 45 with lost-motion so that, when cock 53 is opened to allow flow to a burner, the reduction in pressure in outlet chamber 46 allows relative upward movement of the diaphragm until stem 29 abuts the closure member to unseat the latter. Bleed passage 44 allows a small by-pass flow to chamber 46 so that inlet pressure prevails in the latter when cock 53 is closed, and the diaphragm is depressed relative to the closure member against springs 32, 51. The bleed passage also allows a limited flow following opening of the cock 53 and prior to opening of the closure member 25, such a two-stage flow serving to prevent flame lift.
