1,161,559. Automatic alarm systems. ELECTRONIC SERVICES (PRIVATE) Ltd., and J. D. CHUDY. 18 Aug., 1966 [16 Sept., 1965], No. 37044/66. Heading G4N. An alarm system of the type in which movement in a space containing an ultrasonic standing wave pattern initiates the alarm is provided with two indicators, one of which operates after a time delay. Any movement in the protected area, e.g. an intruder or a flame, results in a frequency modulated signal being picked up at transducer M. After demodulation, the resulting signal is fed via variable threshold control R 1 to actuate indicator relay RL 1 . Actuation of this relay feeds a signal to variable delay R 2 , C 3 and after a predetermined delay a second indicator relay in the collector circuit of transistor 9a is actuated.
