Abstract

1,152,297. Extruding air spaced coaxial cables. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 22 Feb., 1968, No. 8741/68. Heading B5A. [Also in Division H1] Apparatus for extruding a dielectric around the central conductor of a coaxial cable comprises, means for forming a number of longitudinal passageways in the dielectric, and means for blocking each passageway periodically with the extrudate. The passageways are formed by tool segments 9, each of which has an air duct 13, connected to a valve, the series of valves being sequentially operated by a cam, so that the ducts are closed or partially evacuated periodically.
