Abstract

1,149,193. Spinning. ZINS'ER-TEXTILMASCHINEN G.m.b.H. 23 May, 1966 [10 June, 1965], No. 22843/66. Headings D1D, D1F and D1N. A yarn is produced by carding fibres-e.g. cotton fibres-with regulation of the count of the card slivers, drawing the card slivers on a drawing frame flyer with 2-8 fold doubling, and further drawing the drawn sliver on a ring spinning frame. The card slivers are preferably doubled 2 to 4 times and the doubled slivers fed in parallel paths through the drafting mechanism of the flyer frame having three bottom rollers, the second roller rotating slightly faster than the first roller to tension the sliver and the third roller much faster than the second roller to draft the sliver. Each drafting path may have individual idling top rollers, and a loading arm may pivotally carry a pair of adjacent top rollers. The drafted slivers are doubled two fold and are fed through a pair of compression rollers rotating slightly slower than the front rollers to the flyer. The top compression roller is preferably pivotally carried by loading arm. The ring spinning frame; has a preliminary drafting zone in which the sliver is drafted 1.2-8 times between a first pair of rollers around the bottom roller of which the sliver extends 40‹-60‹, and a second pair of rollers, a condensing zone, and an apron drafting zone. In the condensing zone the condenser has a feed tongue urged against the bottom roller of the second pair of roller, by spring means, or by a magnet placed in the condenser or the bottom roller.
