Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of formula <FORM:1022957/C2/1> wherein R and R3 are hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups having 1 to 7 carbon atoms and R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted amino group, acid addition salts thereof, and their preparation by reaction of a 5-nitro-2-amino-thiazole with an enol ether, enol ester or acetal of an acid amide or a salt thereof. The compounds of the invention have antiparasitic activity and may be used in pharmaceutical or veterinary compositions in combination with a carrier, for example in forms suitable for oral or parenteral administration, such as tablets, dragees, capsules, solutions, suspensions or emulsions, or may be added to animal foodstuffs.
