1,012,339. Combustion chambers. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. May 31, 1963 [June 12, 1962], No. 22476/62. Heading F1B. A fuel injection nozzle 16 injects fuel into a recess 22, Fig. 2, in the end of a pillar 14 situated in the combustion chamber 13, the pillar having slots 23 extending tangentially into recess 22. The wall surfaces of the slots 23 may be smooth or interrupted by grooves or knurling as shown in Fig. 4.
