A tip tool comprises a shank 10 recessed at 106, and a reversible tip 11, which is clamped in the recess by an eccentric 12. The hole 11d into which the eccentric passes, has flats lie formed therein. The number of flats provided varies depending on the shape of the tip, but for each side of the tip containing a cutting edge, one flat is provided. It is stated that the tool may be a drilling or milling cutter.
