Abstract

1,092,758. Container closures. INTERNATIONAL CROWN CORPORATION. May 5, 1965 [May 7, 1964], No. 18948/65. Heading B8T. A crown cap has a corrugated skirt 12 and a tab 6 with radial ribs 8 and a line of weakness 18 extends upwards from the skirt edge to facilitate the removal of the cap when the tab is pulled. During removal, the cap is torn at the weakening line and the bottle contents are vented before the skirt corrugations pass over the bottle lip. The skirt may be cut through at the line 18 and when placed on the bottle the wall portions adjacent the line are in overlapping relationship.
