Abstract

Parts of devices for holding metal melts are made of material sintered from 20-85% by volume of molybdenum and/or tungsten and a ceramic material such as zirconia. The metallic constituents can contain up to 50% by weight of chromium, and the ceramic constituents up to 10% by weight of calcium or magnesium oxide and/or up to 50% by weight of thorium, hafnium or titanium oxide.
