Abstract
1,061,609. Discharging cupola furnaces. GESELLSCHAFT FUR HUTTENWERKSANLAGEN m.b.H. Sept. 13, 1965, No. 38923/65. Heading F4B. A continuously tapping, hot blast cupola comprises a forehearth 3 fed by a tapping conduit 2 extending from the sloping cupola hearth, said forehearth having a syphon 8, 9 discharging slag offset through an angle of 90 degrees from a syphon 6, 7 discharging iron, its overflow sill 9<SP>1</SP> lying above the iron outlet 7 and below the discharge end of conduit 2. The firehearth has a pressure-tight cover 10 and a discharge in its base.
